Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. The endless bouquets of fresh flowers at supermarkets. Dressing in red and pink from head to toe. Chocolate in heart shaped boxes. I love all of those things, but the main reason I love Valentine’s Day is because I love celebrating love. When I was a little kid, I was that girl in elementary school that dressed head to toe in pink or red, passed out homemade valentine cards to fellow classmates and made heart shaped sugar cookies lathered with pink frosting and sprinkles.

I know this day can be difficult for those who don’t have a significant other; but it doesn’t have to be! This day is about celebrating love, so why not spend it with your loved ones. Have a Galentine’s day. Spend time with your family or quality time with yourself. Remember, it’s just a day. It doesn’t have to be a big spectacle.

But if you love Valentine’s Day as much as I do here is your guide to a perfect Valentine’s Day weekend!

Valentine M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are my absolute favorite and definitely satisfy those sweet cravings on V day. Plus, look how cute they are with the pink and red M&Ms.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding mix

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/ 2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate M&M’s

Steps:

Combine the butter, sugars, egg, vanilla, and beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.

Add the flour, pudding mix (or cornstarch), baking soda, salt, and beat on low speed.

Stir in the chocolate chips and M&Ms.

Form a 1/4-cup measure cookie with your hands into balls.

Bake for 9 minutes at 350F

Enjoy!
